Sidewinder™

full-sized laptop sling pack

This unique pro-quality sling-pack has generous size to accommodate laptops in its padded retainer, yet is nimble enough to be rotated from back to chest. Common to all our slings, such as the Evac™ series, this maneuver gives on-the-go access to frequently used gear while carrying heavier loads on the back the rest of the time. It's also more secure in crowds etc., since you can keep it in sight and allows users to sit back in tight quarters such as ski lifts, or in vehicle interiors etc. The generously padded and ventilated main shoulder strap is also ergonomically cut for hours of comfortable wear per day, and it is covered in modular (MOLLE compatible) webbing to attach pouches for phones etc. at hand's reach. Generous side modular webbing provides lots of expansion options and the thermoformed best-in-class moulded back panel provides variable rigidity, air ventilation, and a durable surface. A drop-down fast access gear organizer can also hold an iPad® sized tablet like a shelf and the main compartment is lined in velcro like fuzz for attaching dividers, patches or Hazard 4® holsters. An included but removable stabilizer strap keeps the bag from sliding forward when leaning (like on a bike) and a removable delta-retainer is included for keeping bottles and similar objects inside the side pockets of the Sidewinder™. Wherever and however hard core your work or play, the Sidewinder's got your back, and your front.

Really nice edc bag so far!!!Review by Judson

So had the bag for about a week and can say so far the quality is really good. I haven't gotten everything figured out how I'm going to carry but just ordered a mil koala, a flip and a sub pod which should help square away a few items. My only complaint so far is I wish the bag had more Velcro on the outside of the bag so I didn't have to cram all patches in one area and could have them on my bag in various areas. So far so good and screams quality so fair. (Posted on 11/4/2016)

I've owned this bag for over 2 years and have never had any real issues. The buckle has broken and it's hard to get a replacement in the UK as the delivery from the US is 30 dollars on a 2 dollar item. Used this bag for running, skiing, cycling, commuting, studying, hunting, fishing and for my mma gear and it's eaten it all up. It's even survived a few nights out on the town left in bars. I'm secretly waiting for it to break so I can try some of Hazard 4s new gear! I fear that's unlikely to happen soon. (Posted on 10/4/2016)

I have owned the Switchback for over two years and it keeps a smile on my face every time I use it. Well made and intelligent design, all things I have come to expect out of Hazard4 gear. It Mods easy and is quite flexible. Love it! (Posted on 6/16/2016)

I received my bag today and my initial impression of the bag is it's great. The whole bag seems to be made well, with great seams. Plenty of space for a variety of activities, from EDC to a weekend trip. Unfortunately I'm in Germany and wont be able to see how this bag functions as a concealed carrier until I return to the U.S., the dimensions do suggest it will fit my Mini-Draco. I look forward to putting this bag to the test on some hikes through Europe. (Posted on 6/13/2016)
The perfect laptop bagReview by Chris B

Feature-packed laptop bag with everything you need to store your laptop and other accessories. I've owned the Switchback for a year now and have used it almost every day. The bag is insanely durable and still looks good as new. No sign of any wear or tear so far. I use mine with the Cartridge laptop sleeve, which fits perfectly in the Switchback. Only one minor gripe: the bag doesn't sit very well on my shoulder and could be uncomfortable after carrying for long periods of time. Also, I have become addicted to buying accessories and pouches for the bag. I've ended up using the bag so much and cramming so much in it that I'm now considering buying the Patrol pack that can hold much more gear. Overall this is the best bag I've ever purchased. This bag is amazing and strong. I've been using it continuously for over a year and it's perfect. I use it for my laptop and bike tools to ride to and from work. Comfortable (no pinch or rubbing points). The rear laptop carrier fits a full widescreen laptop - though I would make sure you measure yours first to make sure its not too big. All stitch points are really secure and well stitched/sealed. Worth every cent i paid for it. (Posted on 9/10/2014)

I have been using this Sling Pack for just shy of a month now and remain impressed. I have run performance/tactical gear in one form or another for 22+. Running 20-40lbs of professional camera gear in this pack. The quality of the materials is only matched by the quality of the design and manufacturing. No loose seams, no frayed ends, matched fabric results in a perfect layout. Excellent product. Has all the desirables comparable manufacturers leave out/off. (Posted on 6/29/2014)

Bought this as my overnight bag I carry between 2 24hr shift jobs. I went from a stuff sack style bag to this. Love the compartments and versatility. I also bought the divider kit and sandwiched them in the main compartment to make a separate clothing nook. The possibilities are endless with this one, love the size and profile. Fits my Thinkpad X1 in the laptop sleeve no problems. (Posted on 11/12/2013)

I have the Maxpedition Sitka which is an EXCELLENT bag but it is small and i was looking for something bigger for when i have to hump in more gear and this fit the situation PERFECTLY! the straps that hold the panel tabled flat when you access the outer pocket are a brilliant and simple solution! the zippers and buckles are all very durable just like all the other Hazard4 gear i have bought. the only time i have had to replace a buckle is when my dog was a teething puppy, she ate two of them! I shopped around..I searched and searched....molle comp bags are just so ordinary..but this sling....awesome...the quality is superb..the stitching is awesome..the sling is convenient and really unconventional... One drawback..if you are carrying really heavy duty stuff...this comp bag is not good.. Also side packs..not necessary..just the inside board...and foam pads can really do this pack good. well made...I love this bag (Posted on 5/11/2013)

I have always kept the motto "Be Prepared" and with this pack I can. Enough room to carry my work and personal needs, comfortable enough to wear all day. Definitely would recommend this to anyone looking for a rugged and versatile pack. (Posted on 4/18/2013)

Works and functions like it is supposed to. I carry this bag every where, as a 'get home' survival bag. I also keep my laptop (17"). I am big guy (2XL), it fits me perfect after adjustments. The support strap is a must, once the pack reaches a certain weight. Without the strap, this review would have been different. I have loaded to heavy to function; so, packing it like 3-day would be a no-go. (Posted on 4/11/2013)

The padded shoulder strap is too thin. If the backpack is heavy, it may hurt your shoulder. The gen 2 Evac Plan B padded shoulder strap is much better. Actually, I don't think this sling pack is well balanced and comfortable enough. In my humble opinion, Hazard 4 failed when they conceived the gen 3 strap. (Posted on 2/25/2013)

The strap is not in the side of my neck. Access to the bag is great, it's well divided. Lots of loose threads around the molle webbing, and some of the stitches were unlocked and needed to be melted and trimmed by hand.I replaced the roll & Velcro retention design on the tail end of the 50mm main strap webbing with a YKK LA50S strap retainer because I found the roll to be cumbersome and the Velcro abrasive to my clothing. NEED A HIGH-SPEED LOW-DRAG LAPTOP BAG? HERE IT IS!! I REALLY LIKE THE MULTIPLE CARRY OPTIONS PLUS THE VELCRO CORD PASS THROUGH. THE HYDRATION BLADDER PANEL IS A GREAT COVERT CARRY SPACE OR SECURITY STASH. I AM PLANNING ON USING THIS AS A COVERT CAMERA BAG WHEN MY PHOTO RECON BAG IS FULL OR I NEED MY LAPTOP AND DSLR ONLY. WOULD MAKE A GREAT GO-BAG OR BUG OUT TRAVEL BAG GOOD JOB ON THIS DESIGN!!!!! (Posted on 1/15/2013)

The buckle on the strap of my switchback has broken, will the 2" Locking Side-Release Buckle work as a replacement? Thanks!
A:
If it's the main buckle on the main strap, then our 2" side-release locking buckle is the same model. It's easily replaceable.

are the molle strips camouflage fabric or solid color strap seen on? On camp models is it different than solid color bags?
A:
On the solid colored bags, the MOLLE strips are the same color. The MOLLE strips on the camo models are the same camo fabric (previous camo models had coyote colored MOLLE strips).

What is the material used in the color A- TACS Cordura 1000D or 500D ? What is more resistant to abrasion ?
A:
All of our ATACS and Multi-Cam products are 500D. 1000D offers a bit more resistance to abrasion but 500D is still very good and holds up just as well. For future reference, you can find most material info on our products in the "Additional Info" tab on the product's page. Hope this helps and thank you for being interested in our products!

I've got a SBR Kriss Vector with a folding stock; ~18" x 7". Will this fit in the laptop/CCW compartment? Thanks.
A:
Good Morning

No it will not, the folded width of the firearm is too thick to be pushing on the side walls of the SideWinder, and the backing does not allow that much give to have the KRISS in the CCW pocket to be able to perform a rapid and efficient weapon deployment.

Can this switched to use on the other shoulders for left handed people?
A:
Unfortunately it can't. You might be interested in our Second Front which is a 2-strap version of the Switchback or our other slings like the Plan-B and Rocket that do have the ability to be worn on either shoulder.

Is there a dedicated ccw pocket? If I have to carry off body I don't like having my firearm in the main compartment where access can be impeded.
A:
The SideWinder™ have a dedicated laptop pocket that is closest to the body when worn, the back panel of the interior pocket is lined with Tricot, its a fuzzy material that you can use our Stick-Up™ holster with. This pocket is completely separated from the main compartment.
