Poncho Villa™

technical soft-shell poncho

Our thoroughly modernized version of the classic military poncho has more in common with technical sport jackets than the old vinyl camping stand-by that usually comes to mind. An industry first, it should reintroduce a generation to the functional benefits that having no sleeves affords.

The poncho can be stuffed into its own front pocket for storage. It even has a vent for drying!

It's tough, quiet, and easy to maneuver in. We have been having unseasonably cool, windy, rainy weather here in Colorado-oh did I leave out hail? so I have had ample opportunities to use it, even wore it to a concert at Red Rocks where it rained most of the time. It's a pleasure to wear. I'm thinking about getting another one for my wife. OD Green would be nice. (Posted on 5/18/2016)

Built tough. Works great! The only con need a video on how to get it back into the bag so it's flat like when I first got it. How about a video of you putting it back into it pouch. (Posted on 5/9/2016)
Not for warm or hot weather.Review by Major_Northeast_City

Nice, but the cons are it absolutely it becomes a sweat box in the slightest warm weather. The neck opening/venting is really limited, as you can't keep it open to get fresh are/cool off. While the rain can't get through, the outer layer (eventually) in spots starts to absorb water, not a lot but you can see it, as opposed to it just beading and rolling off. Pros: the front pocket, you can throw a lot into it, wallet, keys, flashlight, knife etc. I do wear the Poncho Villa it turns colder. (Posted on 9/25/2015)

Great product, however another D-ring attachment loop along the long side of the bag would be a massive improvement as it could be externally attached to a pack without swinging back an forth on its one D-ring. A essential addition in my opinion. Flawless product in every other way. (Posted on 6/30/2014)

Here in southern Louisiana it can get a bit wet out. I have used this ponch at work (offshore), hunting and camping, just about every situation except actual combat. IT has held up perfectly. Itls light and very breathable. The material and construction are first class. If you need a poncho, this is the one. (Posted on 5/6/2014)

Love it. It has style. And I can ad my own flavor to it with my patches. Bought one mainly for rainy days of airsoft. Pro -Surprisingly lightweight -Slightly stretchy -Water-reistant(obviously, but better than I thought it would be) -Worn rather easily over packs, etc Cons -Doesn't come in OD green. I would buy another if it came in olive drab. Hint hint. (Posted on 10/3/2013)

Been wanting a poncho that was more than well made and (obviously) water resistant and I got exactly what I wanted. For the item itself, I could not ask for anything more and it far exceeded my expectations. I only wish there was a demo video of how to put it back together lol. I will be buying at least 1 more black and 1 coyote in the near future. (Posted on 3/19/2013)

I got to test this out today on rainy hike. I was incredibly happy with it's performance. It kept myself and my stuff dry and comfortable without limiting access to any of it. The construction was great and though the poncho was a little long for a short person like me it did not restrict my movement. The one complaint I do have is that the one of the male buttons that close the sides broke when I was trying to unclasp it. (Posted on 2/17/2013)

I saw a bad review with pics of water going through the poncho, if it's not fully waterproof can I return it??? Thanks
A:
There was only a small batch that had seam taping problem. All current models have addressed the issue and no leakage issue at all. We stand behind our quality warranty, should you receive any defect product, we'll be sure to get it taken care of for you.

The add in Recoil magazine states the Poncho is Waterproof but the website states water resistant. There is a difference. Which is it?
A:
The main material is water-resistant breathable soft-shell with waterproof seams. The waterproof rating is 10,000 mm - this makes it rainproof and waterproof under light pressure. This would be perfect for light rain/average snow, and light pressure type of conditions. You can find more info regarding waterproof ratings here: http://www.evo.com/guides/outerwear-waterproof-ratings-and-breathability

We hope this helps. Thank you for being interested in our products!

Do you have any plan to release a real waterproof version of this product?see reviews online to understand (water resistant poncho is kind of useless)
A:
Good Morning

The Poncho Villa™ is water resistant, the seam is waterproof.

I understand the product you are looking for, and as a prior service, I have my fair share uses of a poncho, and poncho liner. As of right now this is the only Poncho we are releasing.

If you are looking for a completely waterproof poncho, you would be looking at the GI style ones with the rip-stop nylon and underneath waxy waterproof coating. The reason why we use this material is so its water resistant, and the lined hooded area is to retain heat, we took 2 characteristics of the poncho and poncho liner and designed into one. If we use the same material that we are using now with 100% water proof it would be way too thick and un-breathable, just like the GI poncho, completely traps mositure and precipitation making it very uncomfortable to wear.
