Plan-B™

evac™ series

front/back modular sling pack

Being jammed in confined spaces for hours is an unfortunate part of the business for many professionals we serve. Whether it’s a military unit in a personnel carrier, a pilot in a cockpit, drivers in a HumVee, or a journalist in the back of a goat truck, they all have to bring their gear, and all may need to ‘relocate’ in a hurry. This is the environment for which our Evac™ line of sling-packs has been developed. Slim shaped, for fast maneuvering in crowds, they can be stored in vehicles/lockers, and are quick to take on or off. They are also ambidextrous, and unlike others in this class, are actually comfortable to wear. The main padded strap is cocked at either the right or left lower corner, so the pad aligns ergonomically in the correct body-hugging direction. There is no slack, or gapping away from the body as is typical with similar single shoulder packs. The bag can be rotated to the chest for on-the-go access, and all pockets are designed to face the user in this mode on either the right or left side. This means the user can go from wearing the pack on his back, to driving a vehicle with it on his chest in just a few seconds. One-strap also makes shouldering a long-gun natural - unlike a regular backpack.

Bought this bag as a get home bag for in the car. It has much more room than one would think and loading it up is easy.I suggest the dividers as they keep everything whgere it needs to be. full and heavy it still rides great on one strap and comes around front quickly and easily. It's also very low profile for those pushy shovey situations should we all need to leave at once ;-). (Posted on 11/20/2016)

I seen another person with this bag in public. The style and slickness and overall ease of the bag drew me closer. I went up to a stranger and asked them what bag they had. I gathered the info and made my purchase about 10mins later. This bag is everywhere I go. Customer service is top notch as well. Hazard 4 will always have my business. The bag is tough and sturdy and will withstand abuse under adverse conditions. Fantastic bag worth every penny!! (Posted on 9/5/2016)

Many uses Review by Fat Matt

I bought this bag with a lot of different uses in mind. For starters, I was going to be a first time dad and wanted my own diaper bag. This has worked great for two kids now. During this time it's also been used for overnight trips and a hunting day pack. Next up I plan on using it as a camera bag. If that doesn't work out(I know it will) it will be stocked as a bug out bag.

Whenever I'm doing something where I need a good bag that is comfortable and practical I grab this one. I've been impressed by how rigged the bag is...i am constantly just throwing it around and it still looks great.

Do yourself a favor and get this. It has countless uses and truly is comfortable to wear. (Posted on 7/17/2016)

Great everyday pack. Comfortable to wear all day. Was not a big fan of slingpacks because most were not comfortable. Not so with the EVAC Plan B!! I carry my EDC plus extras like medication and medical tools. I have extra room left. I added a pair of the padded dividers to help stiffen it up. Works great. Plan on using this pack for years to come! Thanks for a Great pack!!

I have had this great pack now for about two years and use it as my EDC/Medical bag. It allows me to carry everything I need for initial trauma care plus my regular EDC items in a quality compact unit. I am very impressed with the design and the quality of the manufacture. My bag shows hardly any sign of wear after continual use. I have and will continue to recommend Hazard 4 to friends and colleagues. When this eventually wears out I will be buying another Hazard 4 bag! (Posted on 8/22/2015)

I like the versatility of this sling pack. It fits my needs and allows me to customize it as I please. It is comfortable to hike with and easy to switch shoulders if one sores. I'd use this pack for just about anything. (Posted on 6/24/2015)

I use the Plan B on my job as an environmental manger in the Australian bush. From day one it has been a delight to use, comfortable, hyper-practical and, besides, it has made me the envy of my crew. I use a Camelback 2.5 litre, and stuff the Plan B with a medical kit, a rain jacket, food, knife, flashlight, a camera, notebook, GPS unit and a UHF, and it still has room for more. Summer is coming and temps will soar, but I am prepared with this guy. Awesome gear. (Posted on 9/12/2013)

Great for scabbard and snowmobileReview by JeanC

I attached a rifle scabbard for my m1a on the side of the bag using the Molle straps. It is perfect for coyote hunting and to carry with my snowmobile or ATV. I can put all my gear in the bag and carry my rifle to free my hands and drive safely. I had problems with my hard rifle case on the side. My rifle was shaken to hard and my scope was hurt. Now, my rifle is on my back, safe and I have a much quicker access to it. This is the best option to carry a rifle on your back. (Posted on 12/16/2012)

This is an outstanding piece of kit. I have purchased two of this bag, as well as assorted piuches. The Coyote Tan I bought is the earlier version without the compression straps. I use this as an everyday bail-out bag and as a carry on when I travel. The Next Gen Multi Cam that I just bought is a deployment bag and functions very well as a light weight sniper backpack. The ability to access the pouches and compartments withoit having to take the pack off is a great help on an operation. (Posted on 10/20/2012)

I switched from the Maxpedition Monsoon Gearslinger to this bag for EDC. I take this bag to work, and occasionally use it for EDC with a Crossbreed Ohai holster, which it fits nicely in the hydration pouch. Access to the hydration pouch in a hurry is possible with this bag, unlike with the monsoon, which also claims to be CCW friendly. Should consider adding a hidden pouch like in the 5.11 Rush 10 MOAB (an otherwise crappy competitor). It's pretty secure on the back. (Posted on 10/6/2012)

Long been a fan of Maxpedition but was drawn to the Plan-B. Tho a Maxpedition Monsoon feels more secure on the back, it doesn't have much space for admin items, & contents tend to shift inside. They stay put in the Plan-B (esp. with extra dividers). The Plan-B can handle my iPad and wireless keyboard, but not things like a laptop or letter-sized notepad. That's not a bad thing, as its size (vs the Monsoon or the Evac Rocket) forces one to stick to essentials & helps keep the overall weight down. (Posted on 3/30/2012)

Just received this bag. Great customer service! I have a Maxpedition Sitka and Monsoon and the Plan B sling is far superior due to the fact that you can switch the Plan B bag to either shoulder. IAnd yes, I can fit my iPad 2 in it with plenty of space left. I've been kicking myself for not buying this pack sooner than I did. Do not waste your money on other packs. If your thinking about buying this pack stop thinking and buy it. (Posted on 2/24/2012)

Side pouches fit five M4/M16 magazines with room to spare. AK mags should fit as well. Fits a broken down M4 (14" barrel) without a magazine in the well. Note that the barrel will stick out (3") of the antenna hole at the top. I just use a black sock to cover it and it's not noticeable. Also, for APO/FPO/DPO orders, be aware that they only have a 14 day return from date of shipment policy which is pretty crappy considering it takes 14 days to get to us. (Posted on 2/13/2012)

Are you able to offer this pack in ATACS FG pattern? My climate is temperate, with greens and browns dominating the landscape.
A:
We regret to inform you that we do not have plans to produce the Plan-B in ATACS FG at this time, but we will pass your thoughts onto our design team.

is it water proof
A:
It is PU x2 water repellent coated (top and bottom) for superior water resistance. If you run it through some water, the water will bead up and roll off the bag, but this does not make the bag 100% waterproof.

Will it be able to hold an iPad Air 2 flush to the back of the bag inside?
A:
An iPad Air 2 can fit inside the main compartment of the Plan-B (for reference it is approximately ~19.75" L x 7" W x 5.9" D). Since the Plan-B is not specifically designed to hold a tablet, we still suggest having another layer of protection for your iPad Air 2 such as a case or padded sleeve. The iPad Air 2 will not fit in the back compartment (it's a little bit too narrow).

Will a Ruger 10/22 Takedown rifle fit in the Hazard Plan B case?
A:
Yes! It will fit broken down.

Will this pack hold a MacBook Air?
A:
Unfortunately the Plan-B is too narrow and is not designed for carrying laptops. You might be interested in our Watson or Holmes that are like smaller, but slightly wider versions of the Plan-B and can fit up to a MacBook 12" and MacBook Pro 13" in the back laptop compartment.

A MacBook Air 11" should fit in the back while a MacBook Air 13" will more likely fit in the main compartment. See here for more info and dimensions (https://www.hazard4.com/watson.html or https://www.hazard4.com/holmes.html)
