optics shell-pack

This new breed of rugged pack protects optics, electronics and even weapons by marrying light molded-foam shells and 360 padding for demanding users like press, military, vlogers etc. The striking aesthetics project an image of the owner at the leading edge of technology. The compartments will fit laptop, tablet, pro camera systems, drones like Mavic Pro, accessories like card-readers, and personal items like snacks, rain shell, or first aid kit that are often not allotted on most packs. The molded back-pad is abrasion resistant while conforming to the spine and ventilating sweat. The top shell has 6 spots for our patented Hardpoint® parts allowing optional attachment of loops, lights, bungee systems, molle panels etc. This pack is also very suitable for motorcycle use as it won't flap in the wind. Military modular webbing (MOLLE) is provided throughout on the sides, straps, and interior along with velcro panels to allow expansion with pouches, velcro i.d. patches etc. YKK Zippers, real Cordura® 1000D nylon, and reinforcing stitch patterns insure lasting quality.

Great piece of gearReview by Andrew
Rigid yet comfortable pack that performs equally well in the bush or in the boardroom- it’s a bit tactical for the corporate head shed meetings but is a good conversation piece. Plenty of storage for gear and phones and chargers and such and laptop access is a breeze. (Posted on 8/7/2018)
A tech pack built for urban warriors.Review by Roc
The Pillbox is my fourth Hazard 4 bag/pack. My other products are the air support, the officer, and the tonto(if you can count it as a pack, lol). I have traveled all over with Hazard 4 and the thing I like the most is that all their gear look tough and serious and they are built to last. The pillbox is excellent at holding all my gear in a very organized way. I also have the long dividers and the hatch pouches. I use two dividers as lids and attached the two hatch pouches on either side of the pack to store cables and such. I was surprised to find the pack just as roomy as the Officer which is a 30l pack.i also have two of the hard point attachments although I do wish I bought enough to cover all six sections as I can see where they can be a benefit down the road. Good backpack in need of minor improvementsReview by Mark Romanov
Greetings, dear Hazard 4, I send you greetings from the cold Russian Federation, the glorious city of Moscow. Just want to apologize for the bad English, I use Google translator.

I want to note that it would be nice to apply photos, when writing a review on a backpack, it's not easy to explain all the subtleties and uncomfortable moments that have come to light when using Pillbox for several months.

But we have what we have, I will try to disclose all the nuances and notes I have noticed that I would like to state about this backpack. I put all the ratings of 5 stars, but only out of gratitude to the team for developing this concept, and for the great potential that this product has. I do not want to say anything about the curvature of our brothers from Taiwan, but it's impossible not to see with a naked eye the skewing of the patch with the brand, uneven seams, and apparently not so well understood scheme for embroidering inner pockets, some of which are absolutely useless and not protected from falling out things from them. These defects need to be eliminated, they are not a big problem.

For the most part I use this model in the city, move very much on foot, often in a large stream of people, when the backpack has to be removed from the shoulders, and hold the handle on the top of the backpack. And if the fastening of the shoulder straps to the backpack is very well thought out and looks durable, then the fastening of the upper and lower handle to the backpack is a single-layer Cordura stitched with threads in a cross-section, and does not look durable and reliable, especially if the backpack load is more than 5-7 kilograms.

According to its functional purpose, the backpack conforms to the stated requirements, yes, there will not fit a very large laptop into the back compartment adjacent to the back. A lot of fragile equipment will fit into the main compartment, even medium-sized drone or some oversized weapon in disassembled condition, expensive optics. And all this will be perfectly protected from blows and other physical influences from the outside.

I took the backpack in black and expected that in a dusty urban environment it would get very dirty, but no, he feels great, although he does not throw it into a washing machine, he'll have to carry it to the dry cleaning.

There are also questions about fixing the Molle lines along the shoulder straps of the backpack. Why are they located under the horizontal fastening of objects, and not vertical? Maybe I do not understand something, but specifically for me it would be a much more functional solution (by the way the decision to arrange the cordura on the perimeter of the backpack for horizontal fixing is, in my opinion, correct).

Another important part, the placement of weapons. I understand perfectly well that it is not wise to remove weapons, but sometimes we, as specialists, should not attract attention, or we have additional trunks, and they need to be cleaned up in a backpack. For quick access to weapons, it's better to use an intermediate compartment, and any pistol, glock, probably even in the SMG body weight, any SMG, Criss Vector, a short MP, can easily fit there. But I know for sure that AKSU does not fit there. More "thick" rifled weapons and smoothbore like TAC-14, Shockwave, or the same short AK already have to be placed in the first compartment, and then, only on condition immediately behind the front wall of the rucksack, and squeeze in there with great difficulty, if they are sharpened under concealed wearing, shortened, and their total length does not exceed 45 cm. But I think this is already unnecessary remarks.

In general, I liked the backpack, I still did not manage to use the HardPoint fastening system properly, until I can say that these fasteners look very stylish and reliable, the author of the concept has a separate respect (bought 6 pieces, plug all the holes in the backpack).

5/5 With the hope that the project will be perfected.

Thank you Hazard 4 for your products, I expect from you even cool new products! I give gratitude and greetings to the team. (Posted on 4/5/2018)
Great Product!Review by CMH
I was looking for a backpack for workplace use to transport personal gear and my business laptop. The pack distributes the weight well when used in backpack mode, but can be carried using the integrated handle. I commute from the Washington DC metro area, by metro / train three days per week, traveling 2.5 hours each way. The Pillbox has been an excellent choice for me. I am happy to have found Hazard 4 and their very functional products! (Posted on 3/13/2018)
Practical. Impressive.Light. Logistical. Ballistic. Operational. Xact (Pillbox)Review by A.J.
I retired Federal Law Enforecement and have been on many Teams and had a variety of packs. I have been a fan of the new semi rigid punches that packs have had recently but when Hazard 4 recently showed this at Shot Show I could not wait to get my hands on one. The pack is rigid yet comfortable and holds all my tech for my new career like iPad Pro, GoPro hero 5 black and session in the GoPro case as well as my Bose Quiet Comfort 35 in its case and other electronics. The adjustable waist band with locking buckle is fantastic. Most packs that have a firm back either use some sort of metal stiffener but Hazard 4 has found a way to make it supportive yet light which helps when carrying heavy tech and photo equipment. The loop interior fabric allows for adding patches and other hook and loop add-ons. I feel all my gear is protected yet lighter in this pack then in others. Great Job Hazard 4!!!!! What is the size of the Laptop area ? Can I fit a 15 inch ? a 13 inch ?
You can fit 15" comfortable. Even a 17" laptop can fit.

Can water get into the bag through the Hardpoint mounts if those are not installed.?
There are actually velcro covers that go over the mounts for the Hardpoint when not in use. Water will not directly go in through those openings, though if you were to for example submerge the bag long enough, water would eventually come in as the velcro covers do not 100% seal off the openings. We hope this info helps. Thank you for being interested in our products!

Is the camera pocket area completely rearrange able? I am considering for something that would take most of the length roughly 17” long?
If you are referring to the main compartment, all of the padded dividers are removable so you can re-organize them as you like or remove them completely if you don't need them. For your reference, the main compartment internal dimensions are ~19.7" L 12.2" x 3.7" D (50 L x 31 W x 9.5 D cm).

Will sneakers fit into the main compartment if you remove a couple of the dividers.
The pillbox's dimensions are ~19.7" L 12.2" x 3.7" D (50 L x 31 W x 9.5 D cm) so yes, you'll be able to fit a pair of sneakers if you remove the dividers. Thank you for your question.

The main compartment at 12.2" is just short of the 13" minimum I need. Any chance there will be different sizes of this awesome bag in the future?
Currently, we do not have any plans for different sizes on the Pillbox but we will pass on your suggestions to our design team. Thank you for your input!
