Clerk™ *Final Sale - No Return*

front/back pod organizer pack

This unique professional pack has generous size to accommodate laptops in its padded retainer, yet is nimble enough to be rotated from back to chest. This maneuver gives on-the-go access to frequently used gear while carrying larger loads the rest of the time on your back. It's also more secure in crowds etc., and allows users to sit back in tight quarters such as ski lifts, or in vehicle interiors. The generously padded and ventilated shoulder straps are also ergonomically cut for hours of comfortable wear per day, and it is covered in modular (MOLLE compatible) webbing to attach pouches for phones, etc. at hand's reach. Generous side modular webbing provides lots of expansion options and the thermoformed best-in-class moulded back panel provides variable rigidity, air ventilation, and a durable surface. A drop-down fast access gear organizer can also hold an iPad® sized tablet like a shelf and the main compartment is lined in velcro-like fuzz for attaching dividers, patches or Hazard 4® holsters.

Tons of features in a small backpackReview by James
I was originally attracted to the Hazard 4 line of bags because I loved the look of the thermo molded compartments. I also carry a lot of electronics and like the idea of a bag with room to store fragile items. I also wanted something rugged I could take hiking and camping.
However, with my 6'6" frame, I found this backpack to be quite small for a pack that was well over $200. Perhaps I should have taken a better look at the specs, but this backpack is only 18" tall. I found it impossible to wear this backpack comfortably with the hip straps, and since they are unable to be removed or stored this backpack is pretty much unusable by someone over 6 feet tall. Unless you like giant unfastened hip straps bouncing around your rib cage area, or like fastening your hipstraps around your stomach, or carrying your backpack so low on your back it looks like a fanny pack.

As a side note, the Clerk backpack I received also had several loose threads on the back of a few Molle loops which made attaching pouches a pain, and the threads seemed like they would eventually tear and affect the stitching of the loops. I assume this was a defect and not all their products are like this, but this was my experience.

Superb pack!Review by Red Beard
I was looking for a pack that I could assemble a survival/minimal-ish hiking pack on. The Clerk seems to have fit that bill superbly! I have this pack loaded up with everything I need including a Carhartt blanket roll on the bottom of the pack. For being as heavy as it is, (~30-40lbs) this pack is VERY comfortable to wear. Lots of pockets to put all the small bits of gear, the map pocket will be quite handy, (if my maps would ever arrive). The straps adjust easily and the stitching on the pack seems quite strong, so far. For as full as this pack is stuffed at the moment, I'm surprised it is still holding together.

My only Con so far, if you could qualify it as such, is I wish the main compartment was a couple inches deeper to make it a bit larger (deeper) and thus adding 1 more row of MOLLE. My IFAK is 4 rows across and won't fit on the side of the pack where I originally intended for it to go. I may move to the Patrol or Second front at some point, but they also are 3 rows... May have to look into a different pouch for this med kit...

Other than that, great pack! Really like the hard "blister" packs on the outside. They fit my GPS and other need to get at quickly gear, quite nicely. When I am in the woods, my G27 and several mags will fit perfectly in the pockets too. (Split between both pockets.) The side zip pouch fits my Titanium water bottle very securely and I'm glad the retaining straps were included with the pack. Nice touch! I'm very happy with this pack and can't wait to get into the woods with it. BTW, I got the Multicam version if this pack. (Posted on 7/27/2016)
No more tumi!!!!Review by Ventureouter
I've noticed this pack so often but I assumed it was a military bag. I finally stopped a user and I'm glad I did. Had enough compartments for all my wires glasses iPad Pro a few files and my toiletry set. Along with extra shoes so I can travel for 6 days with my roll on and don't have to check anything. My should no longer hurts and overall I'm completely satisfied. (Posted on 7/9/2016)
WOW!Review by Dustin
Just got this bag about a week ago and I was impressed seconds after I opened the box! The quality and versatility of this bag is amazing! I've put my Clerk into service as my EDC bag and I love it! Well done Hazard 4! (Posted on 3/22/2016)
well built, durable and well thought out.Review by Jason L.
This pack is hardcore. I use it as my everyday bag and it fits everything very nicely and it's extremely durable. I'm a biker and I ride around in the city a lot, just yesterday I hit a patch of sand and fell sideways and proceeded to skid on my back for about 15ft. Besides a banged up elbow, my bag, iPad and glasses I had in the front pockets were completely fine. The accident would have been much worse if I wasn't wearing this bag or had chosen to wear a Jansport instead. 5/5 stars (Posted on 3/1/2016)

How do you clean your HAZARD 4 clerk backpack? Can it be mashing washed.
If you're to wash it in a washing machine, you need to place the backpack in a laundry bag designed for washing delicate articles. You can wash it in cold water and gentle cycle (delicate/hand-wash mode).

Is it waterproof
The main material Cordura® has very excellent water-repellency treatment/coating, so unless you soak it for a long time, the water should stay on top of the surface. However, the construction and seaming techniques (seam sewing, zipper types, etc.) were not for waterproofing.

Is the "Clerk" using YKK Zippers?
The majority of our products use YKK zippers. They will either say "YKK" on the zipper pullers, or if silent zipper pullers/strings are used, then if you check towards the front of the actual zipper, it will say "YKK" going down. The Clerk does use YKK zippers.
