I bought the Freelance in Spain and I am delighted. I work as a photographer and photooreporter, it fits my needs on the field quite well and the bag is robust and tough. I started using it for my daily duties and need too and it works amazingly well.
As a photographer what I miss is a bag for the speedlight, maybe the side-bag should be redesigned to fit one. I can give you ideas and specs if you want. Also I really don't see the need for the belt at the bottom, but it's ok, maybe someone else finds it useful.
Excellent bag, I love it. (Posted on 7/2/2017)

This versatile cordura bag is tougher than my mom’s pot roast! The big comfy chest strap fits snugly and won’t rub against your neck like so many other bags! I mounted a ‘Flip’ or pouch on the strap and now I can get to my gear quickly. Its crossover strap keeps the bag from sliding around and marries the pack to your body keeping it in place.

The built-in hard shell pouch is perfect for storing memory cards, extra batteries or those tiny pieces of gear you’re always afraid of losing. The main compartment has enough room to fit my conventional or mirrorless DSLR system with a couple of lenses and neck straps.

Snap some pouches on the back or sides of the Freelance for your additional equipment and you’re ready for your photography adventure!

I flip flopped for weeks over buying this bag but finally gave in. At first I'll admit, I thought I'd messed up. I wanted to purpose this as a day bag/EDC and at first glance I thought I had made a poor choice due to the fact that the Freelance is intended as a photo bag...how wrong I was!
The sling is VERY comfortable! The padded, removable dividers make it easy to customize and I love being able to rotate the bag from my back to my front quickly!
I live in Galveston, Texas and it's an odd combination of environments. The island has urban, rural, suburban and beach regions all in a subtropical climate. This bag is ideal for moving around in this situation! I've bought many Hazard 4 products and once again I am thoroughly impressed! (Posted on 2/14/2017)

I ordered this bag in Dec 2016 and had it shipped overseas, but I got a different bag instead. Hazard 4 arranged everything for me to exchange for the correct bag and now I finally have it. For the customer service, I give H4 5 stars!

Some quick notes about the bag:

The admin section in the front pouch has nice compartments for memory cards, filters, pens, etc. The major organizer is under the molle so when the bag is rotated in front of you it flips out where you can access it.

Because of the cover flaps over the zippers in the front and side pouch there is a little struggle sometimes but nothing I'd get impatient over. The outer pocket section of the side pouch has a velcro to keep it closed. There is no organizer inside the side pouch.

The shoulder strap is very wide and comfortable. Adjustment is also easy while on the shoulder to get it to fit.

The compartment under the padded back has a soft velvet-like material to prevent scratching and a hook & loop side to attach velcro stuff.

In the main compartment (where you put the camera and such) there is only hook & loop areas in the front and back side, not the left, right and bottom. It comes with 3 different dividers. It's just perfect for a Mirrorless camera. My Sony Nex-6 with 18-105mm lens fits quite nicely.

The material and construction of the bag is top notch. As others have mentioned it is very high quality and very light (when empty of course). It's a great bag even if it's not used for photography.

Because the bag will always retain it's shape whether it's packed or not, if you're in tight spaces it's better to swing it to the front because it does stick out. Even more so if you attach a pouch on the velcro molle.

Overall it's a great bag, and one I really longed for. Is it worth the price? For a modular photo bag that's built to last, yes it is! The only con to me is that unlike the Photo Recon, you can't attach your own pouch on the camera access side. It's more secure but the option would've been nice to have. (Posted on 1/31/2017)
Great BagReview by 1 I JACK

This bag is the perfect size for my Nikon D3300 and my GoPro Hero 5. It has more than enough compartments and pouches. It is very comfortable even when filled with equipment and gear. The footprint of the bag on your back is also not very too big. The back zippered compartment area is the right size to fit my IPad Air 2 9 inch or my Kindle 10 inch. I added two molle pouches to it, one on the side and one on the strap and they compliment the pack nicely and I can still strap on my Joby large size grolliapod tripod to the side. Overall this is a really great bag. (Posted on 1/15/2017)
Best camera sling I've usedReview by David V

This bag is so well constructed and so well thought out, I don't know where to begin. The fit and adjustability of almost every aspect make it extremely comfortable and easy to use - and I was also surprised by how light this thing is, despite the heavy duty construction. All the other camera bags I own now seem flimsy and outdated. I would say it's not massive, however, so while it swallows my full frame Nikon DSLR easily, I wouldn't be able to get a really long telephoto in there. It'll easily take a 24-70, though - I've yet to try it with a 200.
To sign off, I'll say this is my first Hazard 4 product, but it sure as heck won't be my last. Damned impressive stuff. (Posted on 1/14/2017)
Amazingly designed bag for photo purposes and an urban go-bagReview by Shifter Life - Gear Reviews

The bag is like a tank. Well-built with very sturdy stitching. The hook and loop organizing shelves that are included really make organizing what you want to take with you a breeze. The 4 inch wide strap takes some breaking in, but is super comfy and makes whatever weight load you have seem almost like nothing. I have purposed it as an urban-go bag to replace the Hazard 4 Plan B that I have because I wanted something half the height, but built in a similar way. EVERYTHING WAS WELL THOUGHT OUT. The price? A little steep for me, but I bit the bullet and got it. Was not disappointed. (Posted on 1/14/2017)

Hi! Is the camera pocket of Freelance bag fit to Canon 1D X Mark II with Canon EF 28-300mm f/3.5-5.6L IS USM Lens?
A:
Hello. Thank you for contacting us. Based on the dimensions of the items that we found online, the camera body should fit in the main compartment, but due to the length of the lens, it will not fit in together with the camera. You might be interested in our Jelly Roll lens pouch to carry your lens on the side of the Freelance: https://www.hazard4.com/jelly-roll.html

We hope this helps. Thank you for being interested in our products!

Hello! YKK zippers? Freelance™pro photo-sling
A:
Please note, all of our bags including the Freelance, do use YKK zippers. Usually it will either say "YKK" on the zipper pullers, or if silent zipper pullers/strings are used, then if you check towards the front of the actual zipper, it will say "YKK" going down. Hope this helps.

Hi. Do the eyelets on the hard case top compartment, have some sort of membrane to keep water / rain out? Are in others underneath the pack? Thank you
A:
Yes there's a fabric piece that covers the eyelets on the inside. We are also coming out with a series of super cool plugs that you can accessorize hazard 4 packs.

Hello!

According to the dimensions we found online for the Nikon D810 without a battery pack (4.8X5.7X3.2in), it should fit in the main compartment of the Freelance.

Hope this helps!

Hi is the camera pocket of Freelance bag fit to cannon Mark III with 24-70mm lens?
A:
Hello!

According to the dimensions of the Mark III with a 24-70mm lens we found online (6.0W x 4.6H x 3.0D), the camera would be a tight fit in the outside pocket. The only issue would essentially be the depth of the camera with the lens on. The Width and Height works when the camera is turned on its side.

Hope this helps!

Yes, your Nikon D7500 will fit in our Freelance camera sling bag. It's definitely a very good choice.

Thanks

does this fit a macbook 12 or 13? I see iPad but looking to carry the mac.
A:
Unfortunately the Freelance is too narrow to fit a MacBook 12" or 13". For reference, the padded back compartment is ~14.5" L x 6.8" W (3.3" at the narrowest point) x 0.5" D.
